About Staff Selection Commission: Staff Selection Commission is an organization under the Government of India to recruit staff for various posts in the various ministries and departments of the government of India and in subordinate offices.
This commission is an attached office of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) which consists of a chairman, two members, and a secretary-cum-controller of examinations. His post is equivalent to the level of additional secretary to the government of India. Age Limit
Candidates’ age must not be more than 30 years as on 18-10-2022. Age is relaxable for reserved category candidates
Relaxation is provided to the reserved category candidates as follows:
- OBC/ Ex-Servicemen (ESM) Candidates: 3 Years
- SC, ST Candidates: 5 Years
- PWD (Unreserved) Candidates: 10 Years
- PWD (OBC) Candidates: 13 Years
- PWD (SC/ST) Candidates: 15 Years
Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Science (with Physics as one of the subjects)/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Computer Applications
OR
Candidates must possess Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from a recognized Institution/ University or equivalent from a recognized Institute.
Important Points:
The qualifying Degree or Diploma referred to above should be in First Class (60% marks) or 6.75 CGPA on a 10-point scale.
The qualifying Degree or Diploma referred to above must be of three (3) years duration after (10+2) examination.
The applicant must have passed the 10+2 Examination from a Recognized Board or equivalent in Science with Physics and Mathematics as core subjects.
The candidates who have appeared in the final year of their graduation can also apply, however they must possess an Essential qualification on or before the cut-off date i.e.18-10-2022.
Pay Scale
Selected candidates will get paid in the pay scale of about Pay Level 6 by the recruiting organization
Selection Procedure
Candidates who will get selected for the post of Scientific Assistant will be based on the below-mentioned stages of selection.

Examination Pattern:
The candidates will be given 200 questions of 200 marks to be completed in 2 hours on the following subjects:
- General Intelligence & Reasoning – 25 questions
- Quantitative Aptitude – 25 questions
- English language & Comprehension – 25 questions
- General Awareness – 25 questions
- Physics / Computer Science & Information Technology / Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering – 100 questions

- General Category candidates must pay an application fee of Rs. 100/-. All other candidates are exempted from the payment of the application fee.
