Cochin Shipyard Apprentice Recruitment 2022: Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL) is inviting online applications to fill the posts of Trade Apprentices, and Technician Apprentices for undergoing one-year Apprenticeship training under the Apprentices (Amendment) Act, 1973. Candidates who complete ITI and VHSE in the concerned disciplines are eligible to apply.
About Cochin Shipyard Limited: Cochin Shipyard was conceived in the year 1969 when a team surveyed various locations in India before selecting Cochin for the launch of the first Greenfield Shipbuilding Yard in the country.
The yard commenced shipbuilding operations in 1978, ship repair in 1981, Marine Engineering Training in 1993, and Offshore Upgradation in 1999. Cochin Shipyard’s recent success in securing export orders has been achieved through consistent improvement in productivity and also aggressive marketing is undertaken in the last few years.

Age Limit
Candidates’ age must be minimum of 18 years as of 26-10-2022. Age is relaxable for reserved category candidates.
Educational Qualification
Trade Apprentices:
Candidates must complete 10th Class with ITI (NTC Certificate) in the concerned trade from a recognized Institute.
Technician/ VHSE Apprentices:
Candidates must pass Pass in Vocational Higher Secondary Education (VHSE) in the concerned discipline from a recognized Institute.
Pay Scale
Selected candidates will receive a stipend according to the pay mentioned below.
- Technician Apprentices: Rs. 9,000/- PM
- Trade Apprentices: Rs. 8,000/- PM
Selection Procedure
Short-listing of candidates will be done based on the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed qualification applicable to the respective trades. In case, the same percentage of marks is secured by more than one candidate in the prescribed qualification, relative merit shall be decided based on seniority in age.
Shortlisted candidates shall be intimated through the registered email Id and will have to appear for verification of the following certificates:-
a. Print out of online application form (possessing a unique registration number) duly
signed.
b. Original certificates towards proof of age, qualification, caste disability (if any), etc.
c. Self-attested copies of all certificates.
Documents need to be submitted at the time of the interview:
1. One set of Photocopy/Xerox copies of all the above Certificates
2. Apprentice registration copy from NATS portal www.mhrdtnats.gov.in
3. 2 copies of Passport size photographs.
4. Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate.
