UPSC Engineering Service Recruitment 2022: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is inviting online applications from the Indian Individuals to fill the posts under Engineering Services on direct recruitment basis. About Union Public Service Commission (UPSC): The functions of the Public Service Commission were not laid down in the Government of India Act, 1919, but were regulated by the Public Service Commission (Functions) Rules, 1926 framed under sub-section (2) of Section 96(C) of the Government of India Act, 1919. Further, the Government of India Act, 1935 envisaged a Public Service Commission for the Federation and a Provincial Public Service Commission for each Province or group of Provinces. Therefore, in terms of the provisions of the Government of India Act, 1935 and with its coming into effect on 1st April, 1937, the Public Service Commission became the Federal Public Service Commission

Age Limit
Candidates, age must be in between 21 to 30 years as on 01-01-2022. Age is relaxable for reserved category candidates.
- OBC: 3 years
- SC/ ST: 5 years
- PWD: 10 years
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must obtain a degree in Engineering from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India
- Candidates must have passed Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India); or
- Candidates must have obtained a degree/diploma in Engineering from such foreign University/College/Institution
- Candidates must have passed the Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India);
- Candidates must have passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India;
- A candidate who has appeared at an examination the passing of which would render him educationally qualified for this examination, but has not been informed of the result, may apply for admission to the examination
Pay Scale
Selected Candidates will receive payment according to the rules of the Government of India.
Selection Procedure
The examination shall be conducted according to the following plan:
(i) Stage-I: Engineering Services (Preliminary/Stage-I) Examination (Objective Type Papers) for the selection of candidates
for the Stage-II: Engineering Services (Main/Stage-II) Examination;
(ii) Stage-II: Engineering Services (Main/Stage-II) Examination (Conventional Type Papers) and
(iii) Stage-III: Personality Test
- The Engineering Services (Preliminary/Stage-I) Examination will consist of two objective types (multiple choice) question papers and carrying a maximum of 500 marks (Paper 1 – 200 Marks & Paper II – 300 Marks). Only those candidates who are declared by the Commission to have qualified in the Preliminary/Stage-I Examination in the year will be eligible for admission to the Main/Stage-II Examination of that year provided they are otherwise eligible for admission to the Main/StageII Examination.
- The Marks obtained in the Preliminary/Stage-I Examination by the candidates who are declared qualified for
admission to the Main/Stage-II Examination will be counted for determining their final order of merit. The number of candidates to be admitted to the Main/Stage-II Examination will be about six to seven times the total an approximate number of vacancies to be filled in the year through this examination. - Selected candidates in the main examination are only eligible to appear for an Interview.
- There will be a penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the objective type question papers
Application Fee
General category candidates must pay an application fee of Rs. 200/-. The fee is exempted for reserved category candidates. The fee must apply through online mode.
