About Karnataka Police: Police in Karnataka were called by various names in different regions. After the initiation of Policing, they were initially called Thoti, Talwar, Umbalidhar, Kattubidi, Neeraganti, etc. The police primarily with policing used to do other jobs entrusted to them. The foundation of the present police setup was laid after the appointment of the State’s first Inspector General of Police. Today the State Police has grown into a big and complex organization running on modern management principles.

Age Limit
Candidates’ age should be in between 18-25 years as of 31-10-2022. Age is relaxable for reserved category candidates. The maximum age limit is prescribed below.
- SC/ST/OBC Candidates: 02 years
- Tribal Candidates residing in Forest areas of Karnataka: 05 years
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must complete SSLC/ 10th Class from a recognized board/ Institute.
- Candidates must have knowledge of the Kannada Language

Selection Procedure
- Selection for the posts of Armed Police Constables is based on their performance in the Written test, Physical Test, Endurance test, and Medical Examination
- Soon after the completion of the submission of application forms, Karnataka State police will shortlist the candidates to appear in a written test.
- Qualified candidates in the written test must appear in a Physical test & Endurance test to know whether the candidate is suitable for the police department or not.
- After qualifying for a physical test, each and every candidate must undergo a Detailed Medical Examination (DME).
Documents to be carried at the time of interview:
1. Aadhar Card
2. SSC Marksheet Certificate
3. Provisional Qualifying certificate
4. Reservation certificate (SC, ST, OBC, EWS, XSM, PWD/PH) if applicable.
5. Residence Certificate
Documents need to be submitted at the time of the interview:
1. One set of Photocopy/Xerox copies of all the above Certificates
2. Aadhar xerox proof.
3. Recent copies of Passport size photographs.
Application Fee
- SC/ST/Cat-I Candidates: Rs.200/-
- Cat-2A/2B/3A & 3B Candidates: Rs.400/-
- The fee must be payable both online mode and offline mode.
