About the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education: Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India. The council has 9 research institutes and 4 advanced centers for the research needs of different bio-geographical regions. These are located in Hyderabad, Dehradun, Shimla, Ranchi, Jabalpur, Jodhpur, and so on. ICFRE is the largest organization responsible for forestry research in India. ICFRE is headed by Director General at Dehradun. It is established as the National Bureau of Forest Genetic Resources. It became an autonomous council under the Ministry in 1991.

Age Limit
- The candidate’s age should be between 21-35 as of the closing date of application.
- The Upper Age limit should be relaxable for up to 5 years for departmental candidates.
- The Upper Age limit should be relaxable for up to 10 years for Divyang candidates in identified (*) discipline.
Pay Scale
Selected candidates will get paid in the range of Rs. 56,100 – 1, 77,500/- (According to Pay Matrix Level-10) by the recruiting organization.
Selection Procedure
- Candidates who have qualified in the written test come under the category of merit list and then called for a personal interview.
- Candidates who have been shortlisted in Personal interviews must and should carry original documents including educational documents too.
- Whenever two or more candidates secure equal marks in both written tests and personal interviews. The older candidates will be ranked higher.
- Question papers will be bi-lingual.
- No revaluation of the answer script.
- Mobiles and other electronic gadgets are not allowed in the examination center.
- During the written exam, candidates must carry a pan card or radar card.

Only Indian citizens are eligible to Apply.
Examination Plan
For the Written Examination Total no. of marks is 100 and Max number of marks is 400 and the duration of the exam is 2 hours.
Minimum qualifying marks for different categories:
General/EWS- 50%
OBC-45%
SC/ST/Divyanagjan- 40%
For Personal Interview Total no. of marks for 70 Marks in Hindi/English.
