About Ground Water and Water Audit Department, Andhra Pradesh: The Ground Water and Water Audit Department were established in the year 1971 as Ground Water Department and renamed as Ground Water and Water Audit Department in the year 2016. The Department is a multi-disciplinary organization with hydrogeology, geophysics, hydrology, chemical quality, hydrometeorology, and agronomy specialists. The main objective of the department is scientific development, monitoring, estimation, and management of groundwater resources in the State. The department has been declared the nodal agency for all groundwater-related activities in the State.
The Department is a part of the water resources department of the Government of Andhra Pradesh and is headed by the Director. All 13 district offices are headed by Deputy Directors. The activities include hydro geological, hydrological, geophysical, and water quality aspects. Keeping in view the increase in demand for Groundwater and its shortage in many areas particularly during stress periods, the concept of demand side management, apart from the present practice of supply-side management, with a participatory approach is included in the department activities.

Age Limit
Candidates’ age must not be more than 35 years. Age is relaxable for reserved category candidates. Age is reckoned as on 31-03-2022
Relaxation for SC/ ST Category candidates: 5 years
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must possess Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/ Institute.
Preference will be given to the candidates having experience in the below-mentioned areas.
- Field experience in water and allied sectors.
- Experience in data collection, Compilation, analysis, and Report Writing.
- Computer Proficiency.

Pay Scale
Selected candidates will get paid in the range of Rs. 18,000/- PM by the recruiting organization.
Selection Procedure
Candidates will get selected for the post of Technical Assistant based on their performance in the interview. Shortlisted candidates can attend the interview in the particular district. Candidates need to bring all their certificates in support of age, and educational qualifications for attending the interview.
