STAC Diploma Apprentice Recruitment 2022: Semi-Conductor Technology & Applied Research Centre (STARC) is inviting applications to fill the posts of Diploma Apprentices/ Technician Apprentice Trainees for a period of one year. Selected candidates will be recruited on a temporary basis. Candidates who completed their Diploma are only eligible to apply.
About Semiconductor Technology & Applied Research Centre (STARC): SITAR society was formed with the objective of designing and developing strategic and security systems required mainly for DRDO. The Society has two production units – Semiconductor Technology & Applied Research Centre (STARC) at Bangalore and Gallium Arsenide Enabling Technology Centre (GAETEC) at Hyderabad.
STARC is a 1-micron digital CMOS, DLM and MIL-qualified fab with the capability to process 150 mm wafers. MEMS Fabrication Facility also was established in 2012 and MEMS Packaging & Testing Facility have been added in 2017.
GAETEC has absorbed process technology developed at SSPL and has been producing MMICs with 0.7-micron gate length MESFETs (G7a) and 0.5micron gate length MESFETs (G5A) in GaAs Fab.

Candidates’ age will be according to the apprenticeship rules and regulations
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must complete a Diploma in Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechanical from a recognized University/ Institute with a minimum of 60% of marks.
- Students who have passed out from Govt./Private institutes are eligible to apply. The gap between the
date of passing the qualifying exam and the date of engagement as an apprentice shall not exceed 3
years. - Students who completed their qualification from the 2019 to 2022 batch are only eligible to apply
- The duration of the training is for a period of one year
Pay Scale
Selected candidates will receive a stipend of Rs. 8,000/- PM from the recruiting organization.
Selection Procedure
Candidates will get selected for the posts of Diploma/ Technician Apprentices based on their academic merit. Soon after the completion of the submission of applications from the candidates, eligible candidates can attend the interview directly at the below-mentioned venue with all the certificates of educational qualification, proof of identity, etc for attending the interview.
Documents to be carried at the time of the interview:
1. Aadhar Card
2. SSC Marksheet certificate
3. Diplom Certificate marks sheets (all semesters or consolidated mark sheet)
4. Provisional Certificate of qualifying Diploma
5. Reservation certificate (SC, ST, OBC, EWS, XSM, PWD/PH) if applicable.
Documents need to be submitted at the time of the interview:
1. One set of Photocopy/Xerox copies of all the above Certificates
2. Apprentice registration copy from NATS portal www.mhrdtnats.gov.in
3. 2 copies of Passport size photographs.
4. Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate.
